Vitesse captain Guram Kashia is hoping his dash to Paris proves worthwhile.

The Dutch side’s Georgian captain and seven of his teammates were forced to fly to Paris in order to obtain visas to enable them to play in tomorrow evening’s game against Saints at St Mary’s.

They all managed to get clearance to enter the country and are confident ahead of the fixture.

“We had a nice trip in Paris, a day off,” smiled Kashia.

“We had training and the next day we had the day off so we travelled to get visas from there.

“It’s the way it is for us. It’s not the first time for us.

“In the national team it happened a lot of times.

“We had a nice trip, the managers helped us but we had a nice time and it was a very good trip.”

Vitesse may be the minnows in this game but they are not lacking in belief.

“I believe in my team, in my trainers, so we will stick with our system and we will see if we can succeed,” added Kashia.

“I have so much belief in my team, we have so much quality.

“Yes, we have very young players but we can succeed.”

Vitesse manager Peter Bosz, who briefly played with Ronald Koeman at Feyenoord, is also upbeat.

The club have a link-up with Chelsea and have several players on loan from Stamford Bridge.

“I believe it’s wonderful to work together with a club like Chelsea,” said Bosz.

“Also in the past we had players that were not possible for us to get them without the help of Chelsea. They would never play in Holland without the help of Chelsea.

“For us it’s fantastic for us to work together with Chelsea.”
