A GLASGOW-BASED youth worker who set up a group to tackle racism among city youngsters has been shortlisted for an award.

Kieran Daly, who works with the Prince's Trust, runs the ShaRed Road project in the city's Red Road and Govanhill areas.

The project helps unite youngsters from different backgrounds using sport, art, music and drama.

Last year the group performed a play at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Keiran has worked with the charity since 2005 and is one of three finalists for a Princes Trust Staff Award event on March 15.

He said: "I'm delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious award.

"The ShaRed Road project has gone from strength to strength over the last year and it's inspiring to see how the programme helps build the confidence and skills of the young people who take part and the positive effect it has on the community."

The awards will be presented by June Sarpong, presenter of Channel 4's youth programme T4, in London's Barbican Centre.
