CHARLIE ADAM wants to go in for the Kil twice in the next five days.

The Rangers midfielder has his fingers crossed he can help Scotland B win against Finland at Rugby Park tonight.

And he wants to return to Kilmarnock on Sunday as part of a Gers side looking for another victory to stay second in the SPL table.

Ironically, the man Adam is determined to impress this evening is new Scotland boss Alex McLeish - his manager at Ibrox up until the end of last season.

And, like everyone else lining up against the Finns, Adam considers it a golden opportunity to get a foot on the ladder of international football.

He said: "This is a great chance for all of us in this squad. It's a great honour to play for my country, and it's important that, if you are lucky enough to be picked for a squad, you make the most of it.

"I want to show the new Scotland manager what I can do."

Adam realises it is not easy to find opposition and opportunity for these bridging' games. But he believes everyone involved tonight will be right up for the clash.

"It doesn't matter what level it is, it's an honour to play for Scotland.

"I know it is difficult for the SFA to arrange these games, but it is great they have gone to this trouble and that they will look at the players who, hopefully, will be the men for the future of the national team.

"Of course, we all hope that, one day, we get that chance to step up. There are a lot of games coming up, and, if there are suspensions or injuries in the main squad, it's important there are players in this squad who can come in."
