MICHAEL Stewart described his magnificent volley in Hibs' easy Tennent's Scottish Cup victory over Aberdeen as "a bit of a freak shot".
The Scotland midfielder was forced to miss the second half because of recurring sickness, but powered in Dean Shiels' corner in first-half injury-time to give the Hibees a crucial 2-1 half-time lead.
"I've not seen the goal on TV, but have been told it wasn't too bad," said Stewart after his strike was compared to Paul Scholes' effforts for Manchester United. "But I think Scholesy does that on a regular basis."
Moroccan substitute Abdessalam Benji' Benjelloun hit two second-half goals to finish the Dons.
