THE SRU will assist with a feasibility study that has been set up to assess whether Scotland could host the Rugby World Cup in 2015.
A statement said: "The study will cover many areas including the cost of making a bid, the bid structure, the ability to meet the bid criteria for 2015 and the benefits of staging the Rugby World Cup."
Meanwhile, Glasgow Warriors will play their next Magners League home match against Ulster at Hughenden.
It was thought the game, switched to Saturday, January 6 due to broadcast commitments, may have to be moved because of a wedding reception at the ground.
However, the facilities remain available to the Warriors.
