IT'S good news for Scottish football that Celtic are about to join Rangers in having a state-of- the-art training complex.

The twin giants of Scottish football are magnets for talented young players but have failed to match top clubs in other countries in developing them.

The result has been fewer young Scots breaking into top-class football and part of the reason for that is the poor standard of facilities and many coaches.

Rangers, with Murray Park, have laid the foundations of future success and Celtic's new centre at Lennoxtown will do the same for the Parkhead club.

Some young Scots are currently in their top teams and the new facilities should encourage the development of others.

The Old Firm are showing the way forward for Scottish football.

Their investment will pay dividends not just for them but for Scotland's international future. Take inspiration from Kylie

KYLIE Minogue is proving to be an inspirational figure for those affected by breast cancer.

Local mum Anita Neilson was both brave and clever in using the pop star's fight against the disease to help both herself and her family.

Anita drew on Kylie's success in battling the illness to help her young son Declan understand what was happening when she was diagnosed.

That, and her own courage, undoubtedly made a very difficult time a little more bearable.

And just as Kylie inspired her, so others will be able to draw inspiration from Anita.
