COMPUTER dunces probably think a Firewall will stop their homes burning down, while Phishing involves a rod, reel and loads of luck.
Despite 71% of households in the UK having a personal computer, many struggle with the jargon.
And a survey by Computing Which? magazine found 50% of adults feel overwhelmed by new technology.
Many felt weighed down by the amount of information which had to be considered when buying a PC.
Computing Which? has always worked to simplify computer jargon and will now carry the Crystal Mark, showing its clarity is recognised by the Plain English Campaign.
