MOIRA STALLARD couldn't believe her eyes when she saw who her new colleague was Scotland keeper Craig Gordon!
But the Hearts captain was only there to kick off the hunt for the country's top lollipop person - won by Moira last year.
He visited Clarkston Primary in Airdrie to officially launch the 2007 Kwik-Fit Insurance-backed awards.
In recent years Scotland has suffered a shortage of men and women applying for lollipop positions. It has left hundreds of children crossing busy streets without adult supervision.
Craig said: "Lollipop men and women are there throughout the day to make sure children cross the road safely and have good road sense instilled in them for the rest of their lives."
Kwik-Fit Insurance is appealing to communities throughout the nation to nominate their favourite lollipop person.
