A BOOMING call centre industry in the Glasgow area is proof that the Scots accent is one that customers trust.
Figures from top recruitment agency Office Angels show that more than 160 firms operate centres in or around the city.
More than 60,000 people are employed in the sector across Scotland, with over 20,000 employed in the Glasgow area alone.
As a result, local job opportunities are growing as the number of centres expands year on year.
The boom is partly driven by an acknowledgement of increasing customer dissatisfaction with foreign call centres.
It's also a result of businesses recognising the calming and trust-building effect the Glasgow accent, said OA Call Centre, a specialist division of Office Angels based in the city.
