ONE of two children bitten by a Staffordshire bull terrier type dog today said he was lucky not to have been badly mauled.
The animal attacked 10-year-old Adam Patrick Boyd, right, in the street yesterday.
It then bit a six-year-old boy before being cornered by police officers and impounded while a decision is made about its fate.
The attacks in Newcastle came in the aftermath of Ellie Lawrenson's death in Merseyside.
Adam, who has ripped boxer shorts and a bandaged thigh to show for his ordeal, said he was lucky the dog did not pulled him over and go for his face.
He added: "I was out with my friends when the dog came from nowhere."
The six-year-old's mum reported her son had been bitten on the buttock.
