CHRIS IWELUMO has thanked girl power for getting him back on the goal trail just as Scotland's crucial World Cup qualifier against Holland looms.

The big Wolves striker will be named in George Burley's pool this week for the match in Amsterdam in just 12 days' time, and was delighted to score in Saturday's 2-1 win over Charlton to end a barren run of 17 games without a goal.

His two daughters, Brisels and Nevaeh, were mascots at Molineux and Iwelumo said: "I knew I had to try something different so I got the girls along as mascots - thankfully that inspired me and it was great to do it in front of them."

Meantime, Guus Hiddink will have to fight for glory on three fronts without the services of Portugal midfielder Deco.

The Chelsea playmaker is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has plagued him for the last few months.

Deco was substituted in the first half of a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, which had the Blues close to within four points of leaders Manchester United who were thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool at Old Trafford on Saturday.

"He'll have to be very fit to come back this season. I have my doubts to be honest, but let's see what happens," said Hiddink. Stories in today's English papers...
