CELTIC striker Chris Killen today insisted he still has a future at Parkhead - once he has recovered from his broken knee cap.

The former Hibs hitman has only played once for Gordon Strachan's side during the 2008/09 campaign.

The 27-year-old came on as a late substitute in the 3-0 triumph over Falkirk back in August.

And the New Zealand-born player is being linked with a move away from the Scottish champions in the January window.

Hearts, who drew 1-1 with the Hoops in Glasgow last weekend, are believed to be leading the chase for Kiwi.

But Killen is desperate to stay with Celtic and force his way into the first team on a regular basis.

He said: "The surgeon has just told me to keep myself fit and, hopefully, I'll be back in training in around three weeks.

"What is disappointing is that the injury came at a time when we had other injuries in attack. Now my main aim is just to get my knee right and get back playing for Celtic.

"I knew when I was at the Olympics that something was wrong with my knee.

"I was told my op would be pretty routine and that I would be out for two weeks. It was really frustrating when it transpired it would be three months."

Meanwhile, Strachan is hoping midfielder Marc Crosas will be available for the Old Firm showdown with Rangers at Ibrox on January 27.

The Spanish star, who has impressed fans since clinching a loan move from Barcelona this season, is on the verge of returning to the first team.

Crosas was on the bench against Hearts last weekend and is set to be in the squad for the trip to Falkirk on Sunday.

Strachan said: "Marc will be back for Rangers if everything goes to plan.

"We do believe if Marc had been in the squad then there would have been an improvement in play and the same goes for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

"The squad is diminished when Jan is not there. You feel great in the tunnel if he's in your team.

"When the opposition look across and see him then that helps you as well." Celtic's game with Motherwell has been switched to Sunday, February 22, at 2pm and will be shown live on Setanta.
