QUEEN'S PARK midfielder Paul Harkins has targeted a 12-point haul as a decent return for the Hampden outfit in the first quarter.

Gardner Speirs' side will entertain Stirling Albion at the National Stadium with the chance to leapfrog the Binos into sixth place and claim 12 points in the table.

And after keeping their first clean sheet of the season against Alloa last time out, Harkins says confidence is high.

He said: "Considering the level of change that has gone on at the club and the number of young players, like myself, who have come in, if we could beat Stirling and reach the 12-point mark, I'd be happy with that.

"But that will be no easy thing as they have a side full of experience. Guys like Ian Harty have played at a higher level and he will take some watching. Stirling have gone five games unbeaten so they will be full of confidence but the win over Alloa last week has given us a platform and it is up to us to build on that."

Harkins capped a fine display against the Wasps last time with a superb match winner but with only two strikes to his name this term, is desperate to score more regularly.

The former Neilston star said: "I am disappointed to just have the two to my name but I will keep trying to get forward and get into positions where I can hurt the opposition.

"It could be another tight game tomorrow with maybe just the odd goal in it and hopefully we can nick it again. But Stirling are one of the fancied sides to make the play-offs at least, and a win over them would really give us belief for the rest of the season."
