CHELSEA boss Luiz Felipe Scolari decided Silent Night was his favourite Christmas carol after watching his side blow the chance to overhaul Liverpool at the top of the Barclays Premier League.

Skipper John Terry was sent off in the 0-0 draw with injury-ravaged Everton at Goodison.

And Scolari refused to attend the post-match press conference rather than slate referee Phil Dowd and land in hot water with the FA.

A Chelsea spokesman said: "None of the management team feel able to come up for a press conference. They had issues with a number of decisions and felt that they could get themselves into trouble if they did speak."

It is the second weekend on the trot Chelsea have failed to take advantage of a Liverpool draw. After this display, the Anfield men will be No.1 at Christmas.

Scolari is now without Terry for three matches - the Premier League games against West Brom and Fulham and the FA Cup-tie with Southend.

He was dismissed after a high tackle on Leon Osman which Everton boss Davie Moyes blasted as "reckless".
