WHILE the eyes of covetous managers in England and across Europe are trained on Artur Boruc, the Celtic keeper today made it clear his focus is on only one thing - winning more trophies with the Hoops.

Atletico Madrid are the latest club to be linked with an interest in the Polish shot-stopper who already has an army of admirers from places as diverse as Newcastle, London, Germany and Italy.

The laid-back keeper is happy to ignore all this speculation, which has been fuelled further by Gordon Strachan's Bosman signing of his friend and former team-mate at Legia Warsaw, Lukasz Zaluska.

By the time his countryman makes the move from Tannadice, Boruc - who already has three SPL championship medals to his credit - wants to have another three trophies in his growing collection, and the title Treble winner' attached to his name.

Boruc is already considered a legend by a large section of the Celtic support, but he wants to cement that position and said: "You play to have success. You play to win medals and hope you can be remembered by the supporters in years to come.

"I try to do my best all the time for Celtic and, if I can be remembered in the future as one of the most successful keepers in the history of the club, that would be great.

"I've had a good time here, but hopefully I can achieve even more with Celtic."

That's the kind of positive talk the Parkhead fans want to hear from their No.1, and Boruc continued: "It's been an incredible few years in my career. But I don't want the success to stop.

"I want to achieve more this season. That's why you play football for a club like Celtic, to try to win as many trophies as you possibly can.

"So far, my time here has been good in that respect. A Treble would be beautiful. That would be great for the team. But I think that has to be the aim for Celtic at the start of EVERY season."

In his time here, Boruc has been part of Celtic sides which have won Doubles. But, to date, the Treble has proved elusive.

"It would be a fantastic achievement," admitted the keeper to the Celtic View as he prepares to face Dundee in the Homecoming Scottish Cup this weekend. "But it won't be easy."

Celtic are five points ahead of Rangers in the title race, thanks largely to the 1-0 victory earned at Ibrox in the last game of 2008.

Boruc's performance was an important element of that win. But the draw against Dundee United last weekend brought everyone right back down to earth.

The keeper said: "We're in a good position at the moment, but we're not getting carried away. We still have a lot of games to play and, in my opinion, the derby matches are not going to be the most important.

"It's the games against all the other teams that will make us champions. We have to beat them and stay consistent. These teams are desperate to beat us.

"It's looking good just now, but we want to keep it going."

Boruc has bounced back from his own inconsistent form earlier in the season to look more like the keeper who has seen a £15million price tag attached to his name in recent seasons.

He appreciates how much the club and the fans have helped him earn a place among the top-rated goalies in the world and said: "In the last three-and-a-half years, I have been impressed with Celtic and the supporters.

"I realise how much they love the club and how many supporters there are all over the world. I've made some mistakes. But I just try to forget about them a few days later.

"Everyone makes mistakes. I have made a couple this season and I can move on from them now. It was just too much and you need to get over it."

Ironically, one of the men Boruc can turn to for support when things are getting tough is Zaluska who, from next season, will be doing his utmost to oust the No.1 from Strachan's side.

Boruc welcomes the challenge and said: "It will be good to see Lukasz at Celtic and to spend time with him again. He's a good guy and a good keeper.

"I played with him for two years at legia Warsaw. We were actually room-mates and it was a good time.

"It's always good to have another Legia man at Celtic, and it will be good to be able to speak Polish from time to time.

"I talk Scottish that much these days I'm finding myself forgetting how to speak my own language."
