MOTHERWELL boss Mark McGhee today revealed he is set to revert to a 4-3-3 formation in a bid to fire the Fir Park club up the SPL table.
McGhee played David Clarkson, Ross McCormack and Chris Porter in a three-pronged strikeforce last season and was rewarded for his bravery.
The Steelmen deservedly finished in third place in the league and qualified for European football for the first time in 13 seasons.
However, McCormack joined Cardiff City during the summer and Well gaffer Mark has preferred to play a 4-4-2 system this season.
After the agonising last- minute defeat to third-placed Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday, he is thinking about changing his tactics.
He confirmed: "We're not creating the same number of chances we did last season.
"I think that is a result of the shape we are now playing. Last year when we had three up front we passed it better."
