KRIS BOYD has achieved more in his first three years at Rangers than most players could hope to in their entire careers.

He has savoured epic victories in the League Cup and the Scottish Cup with the team he supported growing up as a boy in Ayrshire.

And he has, albeit as a late substitute, played in one of only four European finals the Ibrox club has contested in its entire 135-year history.

There have been a fair few goals along the way, too. His well-taken effort against Dundee United last weekend was his 88th strike for the Gers to date.

Yet Boyd, set to line-up for Walter Smith's side in a must-win SPL match against Hibs tomorrow, is not content to sit back and savour his successes.

He is desperate to break through the 100-goal mark this season - and help the Gers win back the Scottish title after three barren seasons.

Boyd said: "I take every day and every game as it comes along, but I am aware that, as of next week, I will have been at the club for three years.

"I am delighted to have been at this club for such a long time. Hopefully, I will be here at Rangers for another three years at least, possibly longer.

"There is a great deal that I still want to achieve here. Not least, I would like to see Rangers win the SPL title again. It has been far too long."

He went on: "I said when I got to 50 goals at Rangers that I wanted to get to 100 as quick as I can. Hopefully, I can do that this season.

"There are still a few games left to play. If I can keep scoring the way I have been and stay in the team then I think I can get my 100 goals this season.

"It is down to my team-mates. The amount of chances the team have created for me is incredible. It is up to me to get myself in the box and put the ball in the net.

"With the amount of chances Rangers create in a game I am always going to get a few goals. They tee-up about four or five a game. If I take even one or two of them I should be fine."

Not, though, that Boyd is taking it for granted that he can get his name on the scoresheet against Mixu Paatelainen's on-form Hibs side this weekend. The Easter Road club, the last Scottish outfit to defeat Rangers at Ibrox, is on a five-game unbeaten run and is in fifth spot in the league table.

They also ended Celtic's impressive 12-game unbeaten domestic run with a deserved 2-0 triumph in Edinburgh earlier on this month.

Boyd, who is refusing to look ahead to the Old Firm game with Celtic tomorrow week, feels Hibs have front men who can do some damage to their title hopes.

He said: "I think Steven Fletcher has done well for Hibs. Anybody who comes into the SPL and scores the number of quality of goals that he has is clearly a good player.

"I think he has benefited from the way that Hibs try to play football. Steven has fitted into the system well and flourished.

"But he isn't the only striker that we need to be wary of tomorrow. I have played with big (Colin) Nishy and Derek (Riordan) as well. They both pose a threat.

"I don't think we can underestimate Hibs. The last team to beat us domestically at Ibrox was Hibs. They can't be taken lightly.

"I'm sure that nobody in the dressing room has to be reminded of that. We need to produce the level of performance that we have been at Ibrox lately."

He added: "I said before the Dundee United game that that was the most important game for us and the same applies this week. The most important game we have coming up is the Hibs game.

"The Celtic game will take care of itself when it comes along. First and foremost we need three points from the Hibs game this weekend."

Like the rest of his Rangers team mates, Boyd was disappointed to only draw 2-2 with bogey team United on Tayside last weekend. However, the striker is hopeful they have tightened up at the back since then and can pick up three points and pile the pressure on league leaders Celtic.

He reflected: "We dominated most of the game only to lose another couple of stupid goals, but we have worked on it on the training ground this week and I am sure that come tomorrow we will be ready."
