DUNDEE UNITED boss Craig Levein believes the 3-1 win at Inverness was the perfect preparation for this weekend's visit of Rangers.

The Ibrox men travel to Tannadice to face a United side who have lost just once in 14 games, and who are now up to third after their 3-1 victory in the Highlands.

Levein declared: "The Rangers game will be live on television with everybody watching us.

"In Inverness there was hardly anybody watching us but if we are going to finish higher than fifth then we really need to win games like this.

"Last season we didn't have enough away wins and, in my opinion, that was why we didn't finish higher than fifth in the league.

"So it was a good win for us and we can now look forward to Rangers."
