MADJID BOUGHERRA has refused to criticise Allan McGregor for the goal that silenced Ibrox on Saturday.

The Rangers keeper came out to meet Chris Swailes' cross, but fumbled the ball at the feet of Hamilton's James McArthur, who lobbed the ball high into the net.

It was a lead that was emphatically wiped out by Rangers and McGregor had little else to do all afternoon.

However, the keeper has looked a shadow of himself this term, although Bougherra wouldn't hear a word against him.

"He came out and pushed the ball out," he said.

"He did a good job because he went out. I don't think it was a mistake from him."

And the defender believes that the win was just reward for the manner in which Rangers have dominated games this season but have failed to properly kill teams off.

"We merited the result against Hamilton," he said.

"We had many chances and we took them which is good.

"We were at home and we need to win every game but once we scored quickly to get the score level the crowd got behind us.

"Once we started to play football, the game became easy for us.

"We are under pressure and in my career I have not known so much pressure at a club before. We have to win all the time."

Meantime, Bougherra has insisted once again he will remain a Rangers player next month despite interest in him from France.

He added: "I stay here 200%. I am very comfortable here. I have my agent and, normally, he never calls me until January or the end of a season.

"But this time I have told him that I am very happy and that I want to stay. I have told him not to call."
