CLYDE midfielder Alan Trouten is hoping his goalscoring performance against Livingston last week has earned him what will be only his second start in more than two months at Ross County tomorrow.

The former Queen's Park star played a crucial part in earning John Brown's side their first home win of the season against Livingston and is desperate to nail down a regular starting slot in Bomber's side.

And he said: "No-one likes coming off the bench all the time and it was a bit frustrating.

"But the gaffer always said he would give me my chance and hopefully I did enough against Livi last week to stay in the starting XI for County tomorrow.

"We have maybe lacked a wee bit of flair going forward and my game is to create and score from midfield so I'm hoping to keep it going.

"It takes a bit of time to adjust from the step up from division two to the first division though and hopefully I have now completed that process.

"But we have now given ourselves a chance to go up the road and take something and maybe go on a bit of a run and we are certainly going to County full of confidence."

Things are so tight in the Irn-Bru First Division that only nine points separate Clyde from table-topping Queen of the South.

And with the Doonhamers visiting fifth-placed Partick Thistle - who are just two points above the Bully Wee - Trouten is hoping his mates could displace their derby rivals in the mid-table slot by close of play tomorrow.

The Clyde star said: "We are under no illusions as to how tough it will be to get three points at Victoria Park.

"But with the derby at Partick coming up next week we want to be going to Firhill on the back of consecutive wins."
