Liverpool new boy Albert Riera knows the club's rise to the Barclays Premier League summit will heap more pressure to end their long title drought.

Winger Riera, already a big hit after only 10 games following his £8million summer switch from Espanyol, thinks Rafa Benitez's men will become the scalp everyone wants.

And Tottenham, reborn under new boss Harry Redknapp, will provide the next test at White Hart Lane tomorrow.

Riera said: "We have to concentrate even more. Clubs will know that we are top and they will want to beat us even more.

"Before last weekend, everyone was talking about Chelsea and the fact that they were top of the league and unbeaten so far this season.

"But we are now in the same situation and under that sort of pressure. Maybe, though, people now know we are a good team and that we want to continue at the top of the league."

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain John Terry has hailed Frank Lampard as the best midfielder in the country after his wonder goal set Chelsea on the way to victory over Hull on Wednesday night.

Lampard's stunning chip, a contender for goal of the season, was his 99th league strike.

Terry celebrated 10 years at Chelsea when he captained the side against Hull. His first appearance was as a substitute against Aston Villa in October 1998. But having played against some of the best talent in the world for club and country, he now believes Lampard's class stands out alone in the Barclays Premier League.

"Frank does it season after season," declared Terry. "He is different class. In training he is unbelievable and he works so hard on his shooting and his running off the ball.

"We will do a warm-down and he will be doing laps around the field on his own. He is an inspiration to everyone in the team to really push on and give it everything in our short careers."
