STILL BEST No.1 says RONNIE CULLY

WHILE the fresh-air swipe which gifted Dundee the opening goal was arguably the worst in a catalogue of high-profile gaffes by Boruc, Celtic have more to lose than gain by dropping him now.

Even out of form and error-prone, he remains the best keeper at the club.

That's a situation which they have attempted to address with the signing of Lukasz Zaluska. But, until such times as he arrives from Dundee United in the summer - and moves could be made to bring that forward - the club will stand by Boruc and try all in their power to get him back to his best.

Of course, the situation can't be allowed to continue indefinitely, and you can be sure the Aberdeen players will be under orders to test Boruc early on Sunday.

But the best place to resurrect his form is on the pitch, and for that reason alone the manager is almost certain to stick with him - for now. GAFFE TOO FAR says DARRELL KING

HOW many mistakes does Artur Boruc need to make before Gordon Strachan makes the call? If he was an outfield player he would probably have been dropped before now, but Boruc appears to be untouchable.

The argument being put forward against taking the ropey Pole out appears to be that his deputy Mark Brown isn't up to the job of taking over.

However, is he going to be any worse than Boruc right now? For me, Boruc needs to be sent a clear message from his manager. And that is he has to shape up, or he's not going to play.

His midriff bulging out of a top that was drenched and clinging to him against Dundee says it all. He has cost Celtic points this term, he has been rash in his decision-making and against Dundee he was simply all over the place.

There is a huge question mark over the reliability of a keeper who was once a £10m asset - he should be taken out of the firing line to sort himself out.
