GLASGOW WARRIORS coach Sean Lineen today slammed his side's 25-19 Heineken Cup defeat by Bath at Firhill as "just not good enough".

The Warriors were outscored by four tries to one as the English side gave them a lesson in finishing.

However, with Lineen being handed a pre-match injury double whammy after skipper Ally Kellock (shoulder) and top try scorer Thom Evans (ankle) were both crocked, Glasgow were robbed of both leadership and strike power in key areas.

He groaned: "We went into the game believing we could really do it but we just weren't good enough - pure and simple.

"Obviously the injuries to both Thom and Ally were handicaps, but I put out a team I believed could win the tie and we weren't up to it.

"To have shipped four tries on our own turf is just not on and after all the promise of last week's performance at The Rec this is just so frustrating."

Warriors had led 19-18 with seven minutes to go thanks to Dan Parks' kicking keeping the scoreboard ticking over and a Colin Gregor try.

But with erratic refereeing from Frenchman Christophe Berdos' letting Bath away with both high tackles and offside infringements, their experience proved decisive, despite a man of the match display by Warriors John Barclay at openside flanker.

Lineen also saluted stand-off Parks, who enjoyed a 100% success rate with the boot as he split the uprights on four occasions.

He said: "I thought Dan Parks had a great game for us and his kicking was excellent.

"But in other areas we just weren't up to the mark. Really after the break we struggled to give ourselves any sort of a platform and ultimately it killed us."

Warriors remain rooted to the bottom of Pool 5 having now lost all four of their games.

Bath coach Steve Meehan believes the win has given his outfit a great chance of reaching the knockout stages - but admitted they will have to retain their focus for the clash with the Dragons.

He stated: "We had more control of the game this time round compared to last week's match at The Rec.

"But Glasgow are a very, very good side and any team who fails to give them due respect will come unstuck.

"It is up in the air who will qualify from this group, but with our injury situation improving all the time, I have to be confident about our prospects of moving forward."
