HARTLEY Wintney were unable to recover from a poor first-half display on Saturday, losing 3-2 to visiting Chertsey in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
The hosts found themselves three goals down at the break, but they improved in the second half and pulled a goal back through Lukas Burt with 20 minutes to go.
Burt got his second goal of the game in the closing stages, setting up a tense finale, but Chertsey held out to claim all three points.
Hartley, who sit ninth in the table, host Westfield on Saturday. Two days later, on Easter Monday, they make the trip to struggling Knaphill (11.30am).
