1985: Saints 4 West Bromwich Albion 3 (Division One).

A seven goal thriller saw Saints survive a nervous finale to bag the point.

Lawrie McMenemy’s side led 4-1 before the Baggies made life uncomfortable for their hosts.

Ian Baird (2), David Armstrong and Danny Wallace gave Saints victory, with Garry Thompson (2) and Carl Valentine replying.

2002: Ipswich Town 1 Saints 3 (Premier League).

Chris Marsden struck a superb individual goal as Saints collected their fifth away league win of the season.

Brett Ormerod celebrated his first start for the club, having been signed from Blackpool the previous December for £1.7m, with Saints’ second goal.

Rory Delap had put Saints ahead at half-time, with Finidi George replying after Ormerod had made it 2-0.

2010: Saints 5 Huddersfield Town 0. (League One).

Three days after thrashing Walsall 5-1 at St Mary’s, Saints went nap again – and this time against a Huddersfield side eyeing promotion.

Saints were 3-0 up inside the first 34 minutes through Rickie Lambert, Lee Barnard and Jason Puncheon.

Dean Hammond made it 4-0 with 16 minutes left before Papa Waigo N'Diaye completed the rout ten minutes later.
