Saints advanced to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup last night – in what is the latest success for the club’s youngsters this season.

The penalty shootout victory against Everton, at Goodison Park, means that Anthony Limbrick’s side will now face Leicester in the last 16 of the competition.

While Ronald Koeman’s first-team are rightly receiving great attention for their incredible run this term, there is plenty of excitement among the younger ranks too.

But it is not just in the prestigious FA Youth Cup where that is the case.

Martin Hunter’s under-21 side are enjoying a sensational campaign, and they currently top the standings in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League – a competition in which they are unbeaten in their last six games.

As if that wasn’t enough, they have also beaten Ipswich and Norwich to reach the quarter-finals of the Under-21 Premier League Cup, meaning a potential double is on for them.

For the under-18s, the Youth Cup appears to be the main avenue for success, as they currently sit eighth in the south group of the Barclays Under-18 Premier League.
