THE Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One top-of-the-table clash saw leaders Lamb Inn beat Soldiers Return 2-1.
Soldiers were marginally the better side in the first half, which only remained goalless thanks to two good saves from Lamb’s goalkeeper.
Five minutes into the second half, a free kick from Lamb’s Alex Izzo created a scramble and Ben Nicholls scored.
The same player added a second with a deflected shot from the left wing 10 minutes later Soldiers then had two chances cleared off the line, before Warren Hill scored with a 25-yard free-kick.
Republic of Chineham extended their unbeaten run to five games, beating Oakley 4-1.
Dayers Fine Foods took on in-form South View and found themselves 2-0 down before half-time.
Dayers went further behind before they opened their account after the South View goalkeeper punched the ball into his own net.
South View won 4-1 as Matt Morris scored a brace and Myles Englefield and Louis Bugg netted singles. Phil Staines was their man-of-the-match.
New Inn and Chineham drew 2-2 in Division Two, as Steven Bean and Tom Skinner scored for the home side, while Kieron Alleyne netted both Chineham goals.
North Warnborough Two beat Oakley Reserves 2-0, with two goals in the first half.
Bottom side RAF Odiham Blades went down 6-0 at home to leaders FC Everest as they recorded their fourth win on the trot.
UWS were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Hampshire Irons. Michael Pemberton (2) and Tom Lockyer were on target for the winners.
Eastrop Eagles chalked up the biggest Division Three victory this season, as they soared to a 15-0 win over DG Athletic.
Basing United beat AFC Golden Lion 4-2, while Chineham Athletic chalked up their first home win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Chineham Reserves. Ben Owen scored a brace and Martin Taylor netted a single, while Clayton Andrews replied for Chineham.
Team FC won 4-3 at Soldiers Return Reserves after they took the lead from a Michael Thomas penalty.
Dan Cale added a second before the break. Ben Allnutt scored for the hosts early in the second half, only for Team to restore their two-goal cushion.
Pawel Derbot pulled another back for Soldiers, but the visitors made it 4-2 through Ryan Stephens.
Arek Desvkirzis narrowed the gap again, but Team ended up edging a seven-goal thriller.
