AFC Aldermaston pulled off a surprise win in the Thames Valley Premier Division on Saturday, coming away from league leaders Marlow United with a 2-0 victory.
Michael Porter scored both goals, heading home a Carmel Tonna corner to put his side ahead on 32 minutes and slotting home from inside the area to finish off a fine team move after the break.
Manager Terry Rooney said: “I was really pleased and we deserved to win. Hopefully, this result can kick-start our season.”
The result leaves Aldermaston eighth in the table ahead of a home game against Rotherfield United on Saturday.
