READING lost their pre-season unbeaten record as they went down 3-1 to Premier League Swansea, at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

Wayne Routledge scored two goals in as many minutes for the Welsh side as the Championship Royals were beaten The Swans opened the scoring after 22 minutes from Rowledge, as he latched onto a pass from Wilfried Bony, who had earlier seen his spot kick hit the post.

Routledge netted his second from Gylfi Sigurdsson's pass, before Reading's Nick Blackman's spectacular 30-yard shot into the top corner made it 2-1 at the break.

Swansea completed the scoring on 65 minutes, thanks to Bafetimbi Gomis' chip.

Reading now focus on their opening Championship game away at Wigan on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
