VIDEO REACTION

3:56pm

A good day and a decent turn-out. The game wasn't great, but the supporters will all go away talking about Adam Nditi's fantastic goal at the end.

Reaction to follow.

3:52pm

Basingstoke Town 1-2 Woking

3:51pm

90 - Almost an equaliser as Gasson sees his effort from a corner blocked almost on the line. Rendell heads wide with the last action of the game.

3:48pm

89 - Basingstoke Town 1-2 Woking - Adam Nditi

That is a lovely goal. A burst of pace takes ADAM NDITI past a couple of players and a neat one-two with Enver-Marum, whose return pass is a cute back-heel, allows the former Chelsea youngster to sweep the ball home from the edge of the area.

3:47pm

88 - Owusu finds Rushden on the left side of the area, but he can't beat that defender.

3:46pm

87 - Good run from Soares, but he can't find a team-mate.

3:44pm

84 - Basingstoke Town - Max Rushden on for Manny Williams

Williams makes way for Rushden, who's immediately involved, passing to Soares.

3:42pm

83 - Good play from Sole and Murtagh creates a chance for Beccles, but his angled drive goes across the face of goal.

3:41pm

82 - Looks like Max Rushden might be imminent. Two-goal hero?

3:39pm

81 - Town force a corner and Bird's cross just evades Owusu. The same thing happens from the next flag-kick.

3:37pm

Both sides are starting to look a little weary. Not much happening out there.

3:33pm

75 - Basingstoke Town - Julian Owusu on for Chris Flood

3:30pm

72 - Moore does well to claim a low ball into the area.

3:29pm

71 - Good play from Enver-Marum to play Flood in. He cuts in on his left foot, but his shot is deflected wide.

Gasson meets the resulting corner at the far post, but can only nod wide.

3:27pm

68 - Woking - Giuseppe Sole, Adam Newton and Adam Brice on for Xapi, John Nutter and John Goddard

3:25pm

Town seem to be tiring. A lot of misplaced passes.

3:24pm

65 - Woking's right-back Xapi puts a cross in. It has too much on it and only just drops wide.

3:21pm

63 - McAuley lets fly from distance, but that's well over.

3:21pm

62 - Basingstoke Town - Louie Soares on for Andrew Jenkinson

3:20pm

61 - Flood gets a chance to shoot, but delays and his effort is blocked.

3:20pm

60 - Woking - Scott Rendell and Ebby Nelson-Addy on for Theo Lewis and Jordan Richardson

3:16pm

57 - Town force a bit of pressure from the corner, but cannot create a chance.

3:16pm

56 - Lovely one-touch play from Town results in Flood's low centre being cleared for a corner.

3:14pm

56 - Woking's Hewitt manages to get up at the far post, but he can only head wide.

3:13pm

55 - Good defending by Smart to deny Lewis a chance.

3:13pm

54 - Woking - Mark Ricketts on for Joey Jones

3:12pm

52 - Enver-Marum almost makes the most of a defensive mix-up, but the ball spins awkwardly away from him.

3:08pm

49 - Williams whips the free-kick into the goal-mouth, forcing Cole to palm it away, with McAuley's effort on the rebound blocked.

3:07pm

48 - Good work from McAuley earns Town a free-kick on the left wing.

3:04pm

Woking get the second half started. Don't think there have been any substitutions. Town are certainly unchanged.

3:02pm

Today's attendance is 1,080. A good effort. Let's hope some of the people who turned out today come back next week.

3:00pm

The teams are on their way back out ready for the second half.

2:59pm

You'll be unsurprised to hear that nobody managed to rattle the bar.

2:56pm

Rocket from Soccer AM is now running a crossbar challenge, with kicks taken from the edge of the D.

2:54pm

We are currently being treated to a cheerleading routine from the Basingstoke Wolverines. Dramatic stuff.

2:52pm

Disappointing first half for Town. They had a couple of chances early on but Woking were comfortable after that and took advantage of some poor defending to take a two-goal lead.

The hosts need an excellent second half if they want to hold on to their unbeaten record in pre-season.

2:47pm

Basingstoke Town 0-2 Woking

2:47pm

44 - Williams wins a free-kick in a dangerous area. Bird attempts to curl it around the wall and in at the near post. Not a bad effort. Into the side-netting.

2:45pm

43 - Goddard's cross is a good one, but it just evades all of the Woking attackers.

2:43pm

At least the sun is out, though there are menacing clouds all around us.

2:42pm

41 - Williams fires in a snap-shot from the corner of the penalty area. Not far over.

2:41pm

Could Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden be Town's saviour?!

2:40pm

36 - McAuley gets a ticking-off from the referee after going head-to-head with Payne.

2:36pm

34 - Basingstoke Town 0-2 Woking - John Goddard

Town never deal with the break and it's pretty bad defending which allows JOHN GODDARD to slot home from the edge of the six-yard-box. They were all over the place.

2:36pm

33 - Smart forces a corner, which McAuley takes, but Gasson is just beaten to the ball and Woking break.

2:34pm

2:34pm

2:34pm

29 - Another chance for the visitors from another cross, but Richardson can only head wide.

2:30pm

28 - Basingstoke Town 0-1 Woking - Kieran Murtagh

Town fail to clear their lines and when Moore gets caught under a cross from the left by Jon Nutter, KIERAN MURTAGH has the simple task of nodding home from close range.

2:29pm

27 - More good play down the Woking right, this time from John Goddard, but Richardson can only poke wide at the near post.

2:28pm

26 - A teasing ball in from the right by Woking's Hewitt. Smart does well to get it behind for a corner.

2:27pm

25 - Good play from McAuley gives Smart a chance to cross, but that's over everybody.

2:25pm

23 - Flood is down getting treatment after taking a knock. Looks like he should be okay though.

2:24pm

22 - Good play from Gasson gives Flood the chance to cross from the right, but that's gone behind.

2:22pm

20 - Williams takes it short to Enver-Marum, whose low shot towards the near post is into the side netting. Had goalkeeper Jake Cole worried though.

2:21pm

19 - Good possession from Town leads to Flood winning a free-kick on the left wing,  just outside the area.

2:18pm

15 - Almost a clear chance for Hewitt, but the Town defence get back to crowd him out. Joey Jones' header from the resulting corner is easily claimed by Moore.

2:17pm

15 - Smart does well on the right, despite slipping, and McAuley's high ball in finds Flood, who heads narrowly wide.

2:16pm

14 - Lewis makes a good break down the Woking right, but his low centre is cleared away by Bird.

2:15pm

13 - Smart gets caught on the ball and Town are in trouble defensively, but Jay Gasson makes a key interception and Troy Hewitt can only shoot straight at Moore.

2:13pm

11 - Jordan Robinson lets fly from distance with Williams down for Town. Stuart Moore can only parry his low shot away, but he has time to get to his feet and gather.

Williams has had some treatment, but looks like he will be okay.

2:10pm

8 - Good play from first McAuley and then Manny Williams, who beats a defender on the left side of the area before smashing a powerful shot wide.

2:10pm

7 - Woking's Theo Lewis has a shooting opportunity, but he dwells on the ball and his effort is blocked.

Nathan Smart then does well to block John Goddard's effort, while Keiran Murtagh fires wide.

2:08pm

5 - Two chances for the hosts in the space of a minute.

First, Shaun McAuley finds Enver-Marum in behind the defence, but his touch is a little heavy.

Then, Flood's pace takes him in behind, but he drags his shot across the face of goal and wide.

2:06pm

Not much has happened so far, but there is a decent crowd in. Must be up at around at least the 1,000 mark.

2:06pm

Tom Bird is indeed playing at centre-back. Possibly the shortest player in that position Town have ever fielded.

2:03pm

Town get the match under way. They will shoot towards The Clubhouse End of the ground in the first half, with Woking attacking the newly-named David Wilson Homes Stand.

2:00pm

Basingstoke are in blue shirts, blue shorts and yellow socks. Woking have white shirts, black shorts and white socks.

1:59pm

The teams make their way out of the tunnel for the pre-match handshakes.

1:53pm

The teams will be welcomed onto the field by the Basingstoke Wolverines cheerleading squad. Doug the Pug has just taken to the field of play.

1:47pm

1:46pm

The Town players have gone in to make their last-minute preparations.

1:46pm

Delighted to say that the rain has stopped and the sun is out, so if you are close enough to come down, you still have 15 minutes.

1:45pm

TEAMS

Basingstoke Town: Moore, Smart, Nditi, Jenkinson, Gasson, Bird, Dunn McAuley, Enver-Marum, Flood, Williams. Subs: Johnson-Schuster, Soares, Argent, Owusu, Drew, Green, Rushden.

Woking: Cole, Xapi, Nutter, Jones, McNerney, Goddard, Payne, Murtagh, Lewis, Hewitt, Robinson. Subs: Ricketts, Rendell, Sole, Newton, Nelson-Addy, Brice, Beccles, Howe.

1:40pm

Late change to the Town team, with Adam Nditi replacing Robbie Rice, who picked up a knock in the game against Fleet Town on Tuesday. Looks like Tom Bird will have to play at centre-back as Kieran Maylen must also have a knock.

1:36pm

TEAM NEWS

Town line up as you might expect. Looks like a midfield diamond, with Chris Flood partnering Liam Enver-Marum in attack. Max Rushden has to settle for a place on the bench.

Woking feature four players with Basingstoke connections. Josh Payne, who starts in midfield, and striker Scott Rendell, who is on the bench, grew up in the town.

Goalkeeper Aaron Howe is the son of former Basingstoke manager Ernie, while Giuseppe Sole had two loan spells at the club. Both of them are also on the bench.

1:28pm

The rain is properly coming down now. I just hope the pitch can stand up to this battering.

However, it does look like we have some brighter skies approaching from the west, which is where the weather comes from.

1:25pm

The car park looks pretty much full already. Looks like we'll have a decent crowd in The Soccer AM Stadium this afternoon.

1:25pm

I'm told that there are team sheets around, so I should have some team news for you fairly soon.

1:21pm

Bad news. It's raining harder than ever now, with no sign of a break in the clouds at the teams warm up.

The floodlights have even been turned on. A real shame for the club if it stays like this. Fingers crossed things improve.

1:19pm

MAX RUSHDEN INTERVIEW

1:12pm

The rain has stopped already. Looks like we are in for an afternoon of sunshine and showers. Let's hope there's more of the former than the latter.

1:09pm

It's now bucketing it down with rain. Hope it doesn't put people off coming down. I'm sure it will have cleared before the game begins.

1:09pm

The ground is filling up, but you haven't missed much otherwise. Football freestyler Max Minnis has been demonstrating his talents on the pitch and the players are just emerging for the warm-up.

From a Soccer AM point of view, Rushden has been joined by Rocket and Frankie Fryer from the show.

1:04pm

Apologies for the hiatus in coverage, was busy getting a chat with Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden. Should have the video online in the next 20 minutes or so.

12:29pm

Weather-wise, it's mixed news. The positive is that the thunderstorms that were forecast seem to be holding off at the moment. However, it's overcast, with rain still threatening.

The pitch is in perfect condition though.

12:27pm

Rushden is expected to get a run-out for Town at some stage. Will be interesting to see how he fares. I'm hoping to grab a few words with him before the game.

In case you missed it (and I'm not sure how you could have!) Basingstoke Town have struck a deal with Sky Sports show Soccer AM. In return for a regular slot on the programme, Town's ground will be  known as The Soccer AM Stadium for the 2014-15 season.

Today is the official launch, with free entry for all to today's game against Woking. Some of the stars of Soccer AM are here, including presenter Max Rushden.

12:08pm

Good afternoon and welcome to live text coverage of what promises to be a big day for Basingstoke Town, with members of the Soccer AM crew in attendance for their final pre-season friendly against Woking.
