Saints manager Ronald Koeman is set to continue his summer spree after capturing Ryan Betrand on loan.

The Dutch manager has a seen a flurry of departures from St Mary’s, but has now been heavily linked with a series of incoming transfers.

According to the Italian media, Inter Milan winger Ezequiel Schelotto could be on his way to Hampshire as a part of a loan deal for bad-boy striker Dani Osvaldo.

It has also been reported that Inter team-mate Saphir Taider will also be involved in the deal, but seemingly negotiations are continuing with the Serie A club.

Another player supposedly interesting Koeman is Parma winger Jonathan Biabiany.

Media outlets in Italy suspect that the 26-year-old, who is also attracting the interest of West Bromwich Albion, could be brought to St Mary’s for around £8 million.

The France Under-21 international has numerous suitors after an impressive three seasons at the Yellow and Blues.

Meanwhile, Saints have been linked with another defender – this time from Sporting Lisbon.

Marcos Rojo, who helped Argentina to the final of the World Cup this summer, has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United this summer and now Saints have reportedly registered their interest.

The 24-year-old can operate as a centre back and a left back.

It is said that any suitor will need to stump up £16 million to claw the Argentine away.

"Everyone has a price,” said Rojo in regards to any potential deal.

"If a good deal arrives, then I’m sure I will sit down with the club and evaluate things."

Rojo scored six times for Sporting last term.

So anybody know Billy Sharps' situation? Playing in friendlies and training with the squad, I assume he will actually be tried in the premier league and I love this thought because he helped bring us through and he deserves a run out.

Rojo would be amazing. Give us an option at full back or centre half, and could likely play midfield a la Philip Lahm.
And will be a cracking player in a couple more seasons too..

Reading the press there are three players for Sporting Lisbon being reported as "on the move". Not all to Saints, but it does show that other clubs can be poached from repeatedly. Although it's not in the same quantity as ours, we know how their fans must feel

Sharp will be playing in the team, afterall there are very few other options.
Another day nearer the opening match against Liverpool, and more rumours!. Loan players are the option with little cash to spend,we are so thin in defence and attack positions that its becoming a farce.Nothing has changed : ineffectual management, the owner taking the transfer profits, and RK having to make the best of it. Yesterdays loan was just to appease the growing fan disfacttion, but we can see through this fog!

Yesterdays loan was a great bit of business, it gives Targett another season to develop, if he's good enough he will get in the team and if he needs a little time then we have a fullback who has premiership experience. Loan deals are not what they used to be, most loans now are like rental deals. I am sure we got money in for Osvaldo loan last season as well as having his wages off the books. Lets all wait until the transfer window shuts before we make any judgements on how well the current board have done. Certainly on sales they have achieved top dollar, lets see if they can get a few gems in and leave a little in the bank for January.

Sold three of them in case you hadn't noticed.....lol
Still got Jay Rod, Jack Cork, James Ward-Prowse, Nat Clyne, Matt Tagart, Ryan Bertrand , Sam Gallagher, Lloyd Isgrove, Harrison Reed etc.
Could still be getting Fraser Forster and who knows who else might be on there way....Nathan Redmond perhaps?.....
Not forgetting the other youngsters knocking at the door from the academy.

Sunny in Southampton at the moment. There's been a dark cloud/fog hanging over poopey for years now.
I'd move if I was you

Another SRL fairy tale story in the making - somebody thought he was up to the mark initially or he wouldn't have been purchased. Wait and see I guess. Could save us 10-15m if he made the grade.

I remember the English commentators raving about him during the WC as the best defender in the WC - I'm assuming it's the same player.

You don't need to know about football management to see the appalling way the management have acted with our core players leaving and the poor communication of the clubs direction.RK has a uphill task keeping us in the premiership, but can he work with the inept board and owner who will continue to cash in on the transfers, time will tell!

Suggest you give them that bit of time then and until then keep your repetitive and somewhat inane comments to yourself. You can then come back and have the pleasure of saying "I told you so" to all us should you be correct........After time though eh?........Say in about 7-8 months time maybe?
See you in March/April.....hope you're wrong!
