READING continued their build-up to the Championship season with a 2-0 win at League Two Wycombe Wanderers in a pre-season friendly.
The Royals dominated from the start and scored just before half-time, as Pavel Pogrebnyak headed in from a tight angle, after good work by Jordan Obita down the left wing.
The advantage was doubled on the 74 minute mark, as Jake Taylor scored with a nice volley.
Nick Blackman also hit the bar with a super strike and was denied by a brilliant save on 90 minutes.
Manager Nigel Adkins was delighted with the result and said: “Considering the heat, our work rate was phenomenal. We created a lot of chances which was good to see.”
Reading are next in action away at Stevenage on Tuesday night, before they entertain Swansea at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
