THE Camrose will be known as the Soccer AM Stadium for the 2014-15 season after Basingstoke Town announced a unique partnership with Sky Sports’ Saturday morning show.

The Soccer AM team will be throwing their support behind Town throughout the season, with the club set to make regular appearances on the show.

Allowing the Camrose to be renamed is something that may not please all Basingstoke fans, but the partnership and resulting publicity is sure to raise awareness of the club.

Town’s head of marketing, Simon Hood, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Soccer AM. It’s something we have been working on for a while, and to finally be able to announce it brings me great pleasure.

“The show is watched by fans across the nation every Saturday during the football season – and it’s a real thrill that we’ll be featured on the show throughout the season.”

Club chairman Rafi Razzak added: “This fits incredibly well with our key objective – to create a club that is self sufficient and at the heart of our community.

“The eyes of the nation will be on us this season – and supporters who may not have heard of us before will get to know Basingstoke Town FC pretty well, through our partnership with Soccer AM.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for us to build on our reputation – making it a club that local people can quite rightly be incredibly proud of.”

Town will be involved in features including Frankie Fryers Away Days and The Crossbar Challenge, while a lucky group of supporters will watch filming from the Luther Blissett Stand as Fans of the Week.

Soccer AM producer, Rob Wakeling, said: “Sponsoring a stadium is a first for us and we are very excited as it will bring lots more great opportunities to have some fun outside the studio.

“We’re really pleased to be supporting Basingstoke Town from now on – and we’ve got some very exciting things planned over the coming season.

“We are also very excited that Basingstoke Town FC will be playing at the Soccer AM Stadium.”
