BASINGSTOKE Town manager Jason Bristow has told supporters to expect several comings and goings over the close season.

Robbie Rice, Jay Gasson, Nathan Smart and Simon Dunn became the first players to re-sign for Town earlier this week, while Bristow has also secured the services of striker Liam Enver-Marum.

The Town boss is hoping to re-sign more of the current squad in the coming days, but admits that there will be a few new faces joining the club over the summer.

“There are going to be changes,” Bristow said. “How many will depend on how talks go with the players, but we have learned a lot from the contracts we handed out last year, and this time around we will be more careful.

“We thought we had the right players last year and we put them on good contracts, but I am learning all of the time. Sometimes you can see a player who has a good CV and plenty of experience, but you might be better off with a young player who is hungry to achieve things.

“Hopefully, the next week or so will reveal the players who we would like to keep. In some cases, it’s out of our hands because they will get other offers, but we have singled out the players who we would like to retain as we look to push on next year.”

Bristow and members of the squad will appear in the clubhouse at the Camrose between 7pm and 9pm tomorrow, giving fans the chance to take pictures with the players and Hampshire Senior Cup.
