LAMB Inn secured the Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division Two title with two games left to play after claiming three wins in the space of a week.

Last Tuesday, they beat Eastrop Eagles 4-3, while a 4-2 victory over Skewers saw them take a big step towards the title two days later, Dean Hill, Louis Vickery, Ross Cook and Keith Dickins getting their goals.

Hampshire Irons gave them an early scare on Sunday, taking an early lead, but Peter Lomax soon levelled and Ross Cook's hat-trick had the leaders 4-1 ahead at half-time. Ashley Elward stole the show in the second half, banging in a hat-trick of his own to ensure that Lamb Inn won the title in style, emerging 7-1 winners.

Second place is yet to be decided, with Chineham and South View still in the running.

Chineham are in pole position after recording two wins. Last Tuesday, they beat RAF Odiham Blades 4-1, with Kieron Alleyene claiming a hat-trick and Finlay Thompson getting the fourth. James Hindglass scored the airman's only goals.

On Sunday, Chineham beat Eastrop Eagles 8-3, with Alleyene and Shane West both getting hat-tricks. Thompson and Dan Greenwood also found the net for the winners, while Tom Kelly bagged a brace for Eastrop and Carl Hasler also scored.

South View came from two goals down after just 10 minutes to beat Skewers. Harry Rudge and Ashley Roberts levelled the match before half-time, with Michael Morrissey completing the comeback after the break.

South View have completed their fixtures but Chineham need to win their final game, against champions Lamb Inn, to secure second spot.

FC Everest are one win away from the Division Three title after two big victories.

The leaders beat Railway Club 5-0 and Chineham Athletic 7-0 to leave themselves needing one win from their final two games to secure top spot.

Ryan Thorpe scored four goals at North Warnborough II kept their title hopes alive with a 6-0 victory over UWS. All six goals came in the first half, with Peter Keens and Jamie Simmons the other North Warnborough scorers.
