Dani Osvaldo

DANI Osvaldo could put himself to the forefront of Italy’s World Cup preparations with an impressive display against world champions Spain in Madrid tonight.

The controversial striker will be aiming to grab his fifth international goal against one of the favourites for the tournament in Brazil this summer.

Osvaldo is currently on loan to Serie A leaders Juventus after joining the Italian giants on loan in January following his alleged headbutt on Saints colleague Jose Fonte.

The striker has yet to start a league game for the club, making four second half sub appearances.

But he has scored in both of his Europa League ties, against Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Juve now face Serie A rivals Fiorentina for a place in the quarter finals, with the final due to be held at their own stadium in Turin.

Osvaldo, whose last goal for Italy was in a World Cup qualifier against Denmark last autumn, has spoken to the Italian press about how happy he is to playing alongside some world class names.

“I find it easy to play with (Carlos) Tevez, (Fernando) Llorente and (Sebastian) Giovinco,” Osvaldo said.

“They all have different qualities and I’m trying to get used to each of them.”

Osvaldo only scored three goals in 13 Premier League games for Saints prior to be sent back to Italy.

Juventus have the option to make Osvaldo’s loan move permanent this summer for around 19 million Euros (£15.6m).

No, he is putting himself in the shop window to be sold!!!!! The better he plays the more money we could get for him. Simple as. We don't want him back. But we do need another striker.

I hope he plays a blinder scoring a hat-trick and voted the best player in Italy... we sell for £20 million and then knock them out of the World Cup with Luke, Adam, Rickie, Jack, Callum and J-Rod laughing at him crying off!

Its a very interesting scenario Norwegian Saint!!

Has Jose really forgiven him?
What if Fonte retires or is shipped on?
Surely the rest of the squad will be sceptical?
Prodigal son? Returns better than ever...

The money or the box -- personally, I'd take the money
