On loan Saints striker Dani Osvaldo has been called up to the Italy squad to face Spain in Madrid tomorrow night.
The Argentinean born frontman, pictured above, has scored two goals for new charges Juventus following his controversial exit from St Mary’s in January, after allegedly head-butting Jose Fonte in a training ground incident.
Italy manager Cesar Prandelli dropped Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi for the match after he was caught on TV punching Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi during a 0-0 draw on Saturday.
Prandelli is known for not tolerating such behaviour and in the past has omitted Osvaldo and Mario Balotelli for misdemeanours.
So it may be a surprise to some that the exiled attacker, who scored three times in 13 appearances for Saints, was selected for the squad after his behaviour saw him banned by the club for two weeks and then shipped out to Turin.
