AFTER another frustrating weekend with no football, we are now running out of midweek dates to fit in all of the postponed games.

There are several clubs that have already had to put in some Thursday fixtures to ensure all games will be played. With the weather not looking like letting up yet, there may be more games that fall foul to waterlogged pitches and cause more problems.

This weekend we face Chelmsford. They have been in fantastic form since a new manager took charge and will provide us with very tough opposition.

In the space of a couple of months, they have gone from a relegation fight to having a realistic chance of making the play-offs, especially with the form they are in.

We then face Farnborough. They have won their last two games and will be a different prospect to the side we beat comfortably on Boxing Day.

Last week’s Academy fixture also fell foul of the weather and with no fixture this week, the squad are travelling to Wembley Stadium for a tour.

It’s a nice trip for the players, who have worked hard throughout the year so far and like most other teams have a lot of games to fit into the final weeks of the season.

Next week sees our first trial for next year’s academy intake. If you would like more details, please do not hesitate to contact the club or go to the club website for more details.

This weekend we will be without the suspended Adam Green, while Matt Partridge is injured. He started for Reading Under-21s against a very decent Manchester City side on Monday but unfortunately injured his ankle ligaments and will be out for good few weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Regards,

Jason
