AFTER a good performance on Saturday, we put in possibly our worst performance of the season against Whitehawk on Tuesday evening.

With the pitch very heavy we struggled to keep the ball and surrendered possession way too easily.

We were beaten by a side who on the night battled harder than we did. This is something that we find very hard to take.

We have played some excellent football in games and in most games have worked just as hard, if not harder, than the opposition – but on Tuesday this did not seem to be the case.

It is now important that the players focus on getting back on track on Saturday, when we visit Eastbourne Borough in what will be another very tough match.

We have a tough match on Saturday and then the quarter-final of the Hampshire Senior Cup on Tuesday, followed by another tough game against Sutton next Saturday.

Whitchurch will be up for the game on Tuesday and it will be a very tough game. We will need to approach the game with the same professionalism as we do with any league game because they have players who will cause us problems if we do not do our jobs properly.

The academy players did not have a game this week but the first years have spent the last couple of weeks attending their level one coaching course.

It has been great seeing them really get stuck into coaching and develop their knowledge and confidence. This will hopefully lead them onto helping our community team with coaching in schools and in the community.

Regards,

Jason
