THIS week we return to league action with a visit to Chelmsford City on Saturday.

After a disappointing result on Monday at Havant and Waterlooville we need to bounce back to winning ways. The result was not what the performance deserved but at the end of the day we are out if the FA Trophy.

We need to find the net on a more consistent basis to take the pressure off the defence. If you don’t score then one mistake can cost you – and that was the case against Havant.

Chelmsford will be very difficult opponents. They had a great result last week under new management and will be looking to build a bit of momentum and climb the league.

It’s always tough when you come up against a side with a new manager. There will be players in the squad with something to prove and everyone is playing to make sure they remain at the club.

December is going to be a very busy and crucial month. With a lot of league games, there are plenty of points up for grabs and we need to be in a strong position in the league come the turn of the year.

On Monday we hosted our first Reading Under-21 game and by all accounts it was a very entertaining match. The next game is on December 16 and hopefully we can enjoy another evening watching the stars of the future.

After the Chelmsford game, we travel to Bournemouth Poppies in the Hampshire Senior Cup on Tuesday.

As previously stated, we want to win this cup so we will be going there to win. We have a strong squad and whoever plays will be playing to get the right result.

Regards,

Jason
