Hartley Wintney handed home draw in FA Cup
HARTLEY Wintney will host Southern League outfit Clevedon Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The village side beat Eastbourne Town 5-1 on Saturday, earning them a place in the draw, which was made at FA headquarters, in Soho Square, London, today.
Their reward is a home tie against Clevedon Town on Saturday, October 12, with the winner moving to within one victory of the first round proper.
It should be a close match. Hartley Wintney have won their last four games and are unbeaten in eight, a run that has seen them progress in the cup and move up to seventh in the Combined Counties Premier table.
Clevedon play their football one step above Hartley, in Southern League Division One South and West. They beat Sholing 2-0 to reach the third qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday but are struggling in the league. They sit 21st out of 22 teams in the division, with just five points from their opening eight games.
