Tadley Calleva handed FA Cup reprieve
TADLEY Calleva will have a second bite at the FA Cup after they were re-instated back into the competition after their previous opponents, Ascot United, fielded an ineligible player.
It sets up the chance of big giant killing opportunity for the Wessex League Division One side, who travel to Southern League Central Division side Chalfont St Peter in the Preliminary Round on Saturday.
Tadley boss Danny Dolan is looking forward to the game said: “It is a massive ask for us, but we will go there, enjoy the day and see what happens.”
Tadley look set to make the trip minus their club captain Scott Kinge, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in his side’s 4-1 defeat against Stockbridge after a crude challenge.
This after Kinge had scored the equaliser to get Tadley right back in the game, but being reduced to 10 men after Jason Kingston was sent off took its toll and the side suffered.
Dolan said: “We had to shuffle the side and then went with three up top and got hit on the break.”
Tadley have another tough game on Tuesday night, when they travel to Wessex Premier League side Sholing for a League Cup tie, if they do not have an FA Cup replay.
