Basingstoke Town fail to shine in friendly at Hungerford
BASINGSTOKE Town produced a lacklustre display in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
Jason Bristow named a strong team to take on Southern Premier new boys Hungerford Town but the visitors never really got going.
A mistake at the back allowed Hungerford to take the lead after just four minutes and while Jordace Holder-Spooner scored an excellent equaliser midway through the first-half, it failed to disguise Town's overall malaise.
They improved after the break and took the lead through midfielder Andrew Jenkinson, who signed for the club on non-contract terms after the match. However, it was still far from convincing and Hungerford more than deserved the spectacular equaliser they scored with the last kick of the game.
