Silchester maintain away run

SPORTING Silchester notched up their third win in a row on their travels last Sunday.
Kevin Hill and Andy Ramsden scored both goals against Wolves Saints which secured a place in the fourth round of the North Hants Chris Price Cup.
In the same competition, SR entertained much stiffer opposition in the shape of Common Sports and lost 7-0.
In the North Hants John Ward Cup, UWS travelled to Clatford Arms, winning 5-0, their fourth successive victory. Forest View also hit a brick wall in the shape of home side FC Central, who thumped them 8-2. Ty Theodore scored both Forest View’s goals.
One of the two all-Basingstoke ties saw South View entertain AFC Golden Lion, with the home side securing passage into the next round with their 5-3 victory.
Kevin Cheesman scored twice and Simon Jane hit a hat-trick for South View, while Gavin Whitby-Lear, Rory Parnell and Mark Overington replied for the visitors.
Basingstoke and District Third Division side Harriers inflicted the first defeat of the season on Division Four high flyers Hampshire Irons 1-0 after extra-time.
