SILCHESTER clinched the Hampshire League Regional Division One North East title with their 12th win out of 12 games.

Visiting third placed side Donnington were the latest side to be out to the sword as the home side amassed 263-5 as Elliot Dedman top scored with 88 and Olly Dodd hit 78.

Dodd then proved just as good with the ball with 5-22 as the visitors were all out for 128. Shay Bradley returned the meanest figures of the weekend of 4-4-0-2.

Sherfield-on-London (172-8) beat Rotherwick ITW by 16 runs and Overton II (170-7) won by 44 runs over East Woodhay, while Ashford Hill (111-9) lost by four runs to Fair Oak III.

Old Basing III’s game with Holybourne and Odiham and Greywell seconds clash with Kingsclere both fell victim to the weather.
