OPENER Gerry Dique hit a superb 147 as Oakley won at Alton III by 131 runs in the Hampshire League County Division Four North.

Dique carried his bat and shared an opening stand worth 50 with Dan Sumner (20).

Then along with Alex Brundle (22) the pair added added 87 in a partnership later in the innings.

This helped Oakley to reach a match winning score of 248.

The home side in reply were bowled out for 117, as Sumner took three wickets and Clive Weslman (2) Honours were even in the clash between Overton and visiting Ramsdell as both sides were bowled out for 116.

In the Overton innings, Tom Holbrook (4-19) Jonny Bradley (4-26) and Mark Andrews (2-25) took the wickets for the visitors.

Ramsdell looked to be heading for victory at 71-5, but then found themselves 115-8 and were eventually all out for 116.

Old Basing II bowled out home side Whitchurch for 91 as .Angus Stronach took 4-36. The visitors went onto win the game by five wickets.

Basingstoke and North Hants IV (158-9) lost at Liphook by six wickets.

Scott McGaughrin’s 83 was in vain for Odiham and Greywell as their 225-9 was not enough as Amport won by six wickets in Division Three North.

Both local sides in Division Two were beaten Basingstoke III went down on Castle Field by 60 runs.

Nitin Matthew hit an unbeaten 56 in their total of 213 as they tried to chase down Bramshaw’s 273-7 which saw Harry Smith and Rob Norwell both take three wickets.

Old Basing were all out for 148 as they lost by six wickets to visiting East Woodhay.
