RAMSDELL are up to second spot in the Hampshire League County Division Four, after an eight wicket success over near neighbours Ashford Hill.

Dave Simpson’s unbeaten 44 helped the victors to 134-2 after Ashford made 132-7.

Jim Bevan had a great game with bat and ball as Whitchurch moved up to fifth, after a 38-run victory at leaders Odiham and Greywell Bevan top scored with 64 and Richard Osmond (52) as Whitchurch made 209-7. Bevan then took 3-23 as Odiham reached 171-8, with Jean-Pierre Kustner (52) their top scorer.

AWE Tadley narrowly lost by three runs at Medstead (187) as Mike Burt recorded super figures of 6.3-2-6-4, as he ripped out the tail. Cameron Saint (3-50) did the damage earlier on.

Tadley in reply just fell short on 184-8, as James Lovegrove scored 50.

Basingstoke and North Hants IV lost a high scoring contest.

Ak Sankaranarayanan took 4-90 as Chawton made 319-8 and then Benjamin Bisson (75) and Akhtar Ali (52) saw Basingstoke to 252-8. Oakley (169) lost to Old Alresford (236-7) as Gerry Dique took three wickets.

Graham Buckingham (97) helped Hook and Newnham Basics II to 258-8) in Division One. Jack Campbell (6-19) saw Ellingham all out for 221.

Matt Donaldson’s unbeaten 72 helped Old Basing (190-7) to a seven wicket win at Bramshaw in Division Two. Basingstoke III (132) lost by 112 runs at Bournemouth (244-6), even if Rakitha Perera took 3-43.

Hook III (137-7) won at Littleton (134-9) by three wickets in Division Three North.

Dan Johnson scored 52 as Overton were all out for 175, as they lost to visiting Hartley Wintney II (178-8) with Tom Millward their top scored with an unbeaten 67.
