OLIVER Maxwell hit an unbeaten century as Overton romped to a 124-run victory over visiting South Newton in Hampshire Cricket League County Division Three North.

Maxwell reached 102 by the time Overton's innings came to a close, the hosts reaching 235-8. South Newton never got close to matching this, being bowled out for just 89.

Unbeaten Hobos remain second in he table after beating visiting Michelmersh and Timsbury by six wickets. The guests were dismissed for 142 before Ahmed Khan led Hobos to victory with an unbeaten 69.

Jack Parsons led AWE Tadley to a seven-wicket win away at Hursley Park II, but the north Hampshire side remain bottom of the table.

The hosts reached 205 before they were bowled out, but Parsons made light work of the Hursley attack, hitting an unbeaten 86 to lead his side to a comfortable win.

James Philpott also made 86 as visiting Hartley Wintney II beat East Woodhay by three wickets, successfully chasing 216-8.

There were some good individual performances from Hook and Newnham Basics III players, but the team went down to a narrow two-wicket defeat at home to Steep.

Harry Warner hit 54 as Hook were bowled out for 221 and while Steve Cates was on top form with the ball, taking 5-38, Steep crept over the line with eight wickets down.

Hook's second string fared much better, beating Locks Heath by five wickets to maintain their grip on fourth place in Division One.

Visiting Locks Heath were bowled out for 150 and captain Matt McNally led from the front for Hook, leading his side to victory with an unbeaten 76.

Old Basing are up to third in Division Two after bowling visiting Liphook and Ripsley II out for just 50.

The hosts opening pair got the job done with the bat, leading Basing to a comprehensive 10-wicket victory that saw them climb a place in the table.

Basingstoke and North Hants III lost by 66 runs away at Bishop's Waltham. Ryan Connor took 3-37 as the hosts were restricted to 201-7, but the Bountymen were bowled out for 135 in reply.

Both north Hampshire sides in Division Four North suffered defeat.

Oakley came out on the wrong end of a tight game against visiting Sparsholt II, losing by just 11 runs.

The guests reached an imposing 247-5 and while Oakley got close, with Gerry Dique making 57, they lost their final wicket with the score on 236.

Whitchurch were bowled out for 132 away at Mottisfont, with the hosts getting over the line for a five-wicket victory.
