MIKE Askem had a great day with the bat and ball in Oakley II’s 143-run victory at Oakmount in the Hampshire League Regional Division Two North East.

Askem grabbed a hat-trick in a four wicket haul and also top scored with 58 in the visitors’ total of 184-6.

The home side collapsed from 36-1 to 44 all out with Kalum Sappumannage (4-17) also among the wickets They remain second behind leaders St Mary’s (163-9) who won by one wicket at AWE Tadley II. Shriharsh starred with bat and ball with 44 not out and 4-41.

Basingstoke and North Hants V (146) went down by 145 runs at Compton.

Hartley Wintney III won by 72 runs over Ramsdell II. Martin Prodger 64, saw Hartley make 218-7 as Steve Attridge (3-43) was the chief wicket taker. In reply, Ramsdell made 146-8 as John Munday struck 55 and Darren cope took 3-43.

Hook and Newnham Basics IV beat visiting Liphook by 91 runs. Tom Robson (64) and Nick Harding (55) saw Hook reach 217-3 and Liphook were bowled out for 126 thanks to Callum Doran (3-40).

Grant Good (104 not out) and Matt Pedley (51 not out) guilded Ashford Hill II (233-2) to an eight wicket success at Bentworth in Division One North.

Benjamin Bissoon (116) continued his great form as leaders Silchester scored 253-5 and East Woodhay II were bowled out for 120 with Kieran Brace (3-37) the best bowler.

Sherfield-on-Loddon (222-9) beat Odiham and Greywell II (219-7) and Old Basing III (155-6) won at Kingsclere (153) by four wickets.

Overton (107) went down by 124 runs at Ropley II, while Rotherwick ITW (139) lost by 92 runs at Bishop’s Waltham.

Odiham III won at Herriard II by 20 runs as Dom Lane took 3-30 in Odiham’s 191-8 and then Justin Shaw (4-25) did the damage as the home side were bowled out for 171, in Division Three North.
