ASHFORD Hill beat Kingsclere by six runs in Hampshire League Regional Division One North East.

Home side Ashford batted first and scored 236-8 thanks to Mark Williamson 67 and Peter Brown 61 and then Kingsclere were bowled out for 230.

Silchester enjoyed a four wicket success over old Basing III as Rob Jones (67) top scored in their winning total of 174-6 after Old Basing made 173-9.

Overton II (197-7) beat Crown Taverners (167-9) by 30 runs, as Steve Kent hit 67.

Sherfield on Loddon (149) lost by 27 runs at Holybourne and Rotherwick ITW (133) went down by 123 runs to Bentworth.

In Division Two North East, Hook recovered from 52-5 to win by three wickets away at Basingstoke and North Hants V.

This was thanks to an unbeaten 64 Tony Robson as Gary Watts 4-25 was all in vain as Hook reached 184-7.

Earlier Basingstoke were bowled out for 183 as Garfield Coombs 49 and Jamie Chatterton 43.

Oakley II beat visiting Herriard by 80 runs. Batting first the home side reached 203-8 thanks to Jimmy Bright 87 and Steve Savage 47 and Andy Butler took 5-33. Herriard were then all out for 123 as George Lethaby 5-44 did most of the damage.

Ramsdell's Steve Attridge (68) and Mark Morley (51) shared a 112 partnership in their total of 235-6. This proved not to be enough as earlier Holybourne II made 247-7 as Mark Andrews and Attridge took three wickets each.

In Division Three North East Odiham enjoyed a crushing 173 run success over Petersfield III (103). Bruce Applin top scored with 86 in their winning total of 276-8 and George Connor took 4-12.

Herriard were bowled out for 110 in a seven wicket loss to Colden Common.
